Aplauso rewards you for bringing colleagues onto the platform. The Referrals page (my.aplauso.io → Referrals) gives you your unique referral code, sharing tools, and a live view of your referral progress.
Under the current program, you earn 2% of eligible referred paid tip volume funded from Aplauso's platform fee, with up to $300 available per eligible tip center. Once a tip center is eligible, it keeps earning until it reaches that cap.
Finding Your Referral Code
Go to my.aplauso.io → Referrals. Your unique referral code is displayed prominently on the page alongside your referral URL - a direct link that pre-fills your code so referred sign-ups are automatically attributed to you.
Sharing Your Code
You can share your referral in several ways:
Referral links now continue into the native mobile app. If your colleague taps your referral link on a phone with the Aplauso app already installed, the app opens directly and keeps the referral attached through mobile signup. If they need to install the app first, Android can continue straight into Google Play while iPhone uses a short Continue to App Store handoff so the same referral can be recovered on first launch and carried into signup.
Copy to Clipboard
Click the Copy Code or Copy Link button next to your code or URL. Paste it anywhere - iMessage, WhatsApp, Slack, email.
Invite by Email
Enter a colleague's email address in the Invite by Email field and click Send Invite. Aplauso sends a personalized invitation email with your referral code embedded.
Share Text
A pre-written share message is provided - tap Share to open the native OS share sheet with the message and link ready to send.
Tracking Referrals
The Referrals page shows your referral stats and now separates your network into two visible lists:
- Sent Invites - pending email invites sent from the dashboard that have not claimed signup yet
- Claimed Referrals - users or organizations already attached to your referral code
Referral-specific accomplishment badges no longer live on the Referrals page itself. Those longer-term milestones now belong on the Achievements page so your referral progress sits alongside your other activation, performance, and earnings accomplishments.
At the top of the page, Aplauso also shows your referral stats:
- Total invites sent - how many people you have invited
- Accepted referrals - how many have signed up using your code
- Referral earnings - how much referred paid-tip activity has earned for you so far
- Paid-tip progress - how much referred tip volume has already been attributed
How Referral Earnings Work
- Your referral earns when the referred person starts receiving paid tips.
- Aplauso allocates the share from its platform fee, so the referred employee's configured dividend does not change.
- Each eligible tip center can earn you up to $300.
- A tip center can be an employee, a department, or an outlet depending on how the venue is configured.
- Once a tip center is eligible, it keeps earning until it reaches its cap.
- If a referred user later creates an organization, each new tip center created during that organization's first live referral year gets its own default cap.
Referral Qualification
A referral is counted as accepted when:
- The invited person signs up using your referral code or link.
- They complete their Aplauso profile and Stripe onboarding.
- They receive their first paid tip.
Referrals that sign up but do not complete onboarding remain as pending and do not qualify for paid-tip referral earnings yet.
FAQ
What are the referral rewards? The current launch policy is 2% of eligible paid tip volume, funded from Aplauso's platform fee, with up to $300 per eligible tip center.
How long do referral earnings stay active? Referral earnings do not stop for an already-eligible tip center under the current program. The one-year timing rule only limits when new organization tip centers can start qualifying.
Can I refer colleagues at a different venue? Yes. Referrals are not restricted to your property. Any employee at any Aplauso-compatible venue can sign up using your code.
What if someone uses both my code and another person's code? Only the first-used code is attributed. If someone clicks your link, your code is pre-filled and takes precedence.
What if they open my referral link on a phone and choose the app instead of finishing signup on the website? Aplauso now keeps the referral attached through the mobile app handoff. If the app is already installed, the referral opens directly in the app. If the person needs to install the app first, Aplauso preserves the referral on the download path and in texted download links so they can continue signup without starting over.
Where do I track referral achievement badges now? Referral accomplishment badges live on the Achievements page. The Referrals page focuses on your code, sent invites, claimed referrals, and referral earnings, while the Achievements page tracks broader milestone progress including referral wins.
