Aplauso uses Stripe for its supported card-payment flow. Stripe collection for a guest tip and Stripe connected-account payouts for an employee are separate integrations. A connected account does not change the guest's canonical employee, outlet, or department destination.

Payment methods are contextual

The methods shown to a guest depend on the active product surface, device, environment, Stripe configuration, and property settings. Do not promise Apple Pay, Google Pay, hosted Checkout, room charge, a particular authentication step, or a method's availability from Help Center content.

Prepare and reconcile a payment

Before a guest payment is created, Aplauso validates the prepared canonical tip, currency, calculated payment amount, and any configured service charge. It creates a Stripe PaymentIntent using the canonical total and an idempotency key so an incompatible duplicate payment cannot silently replace the original.

Stripe reports payment changes through verified payment and charge events. Aplauso reconciles the canonical PaymentIntent and its environment before finalizing a successful tip and applying its stored allocation plan. Failed, canceled, refunded, disputed, or duplicate payment events are processed by the payment and adjustment rules; a page redirect or a client-side success message alone is not proof of final settlement.

Amounts, refunds, and disputes

The canonical payment total can include a configured service charge. Do not quote a default percentage, say it covers a specific cost, or calculate the guest total from a fixed formula unless the active guest surface displays it.

Refunds and disputes require authorized operational handling. Provider events can update the linked tip and trigger the relevant allocation-adjustment plan, but the resulting wallet or payout effect depends on the recorded state. Do not promise a self-service refund, automatic negative balance, or a fixed reversal timetable. Contact Support with the non-sensitive payment reference, property, amount, currency, and time if a payment needs investigation.

Protect payment information

Guests should use only the payment interface currently presented by Aplauso and Stripe. Never ask a guest to send card details, passwords, bank details, or verification codes to Support, a manager, or an employee.
