Aplauso mobile currently uses phone number sign-in with a 6-digit one-time code (OTP). Your employer may have already created an employee record for you - signing in links your account to that record automatically.
Sign-In Methods
Phone Number Sign-In
- On the sign-in screen, select your country code from the picker.
- Enter your mobile phone number.
- Tap Send Code. You will receive a 6-digit SMS within 30 seconds.
- If you request a code, the app enforces a 60-second cooldown before another code can be sent from the same device.
- Enter the code in the six-digit input boxes. The app verifies automatically when all six digits are entered.
Your phone number is used for authentication only. It is not shared with guests.
First-Time Setup Flow
If this is your first login, the app walks you through a short setup sequence:
Step 1 - Enter Your Name
Provide your first and last name. This name appears on your public tipping profile and guest receipts.
Step 2 - Add a Profile Photo (Optional)
You can take a photo or choose one from your library so guests can recognize you on your tipping profile and share screen.
Step 3 - Set Your Rating Prompt
Choose or customize the prompt guests see before they leave a rating.
Step 4 - Your Page Is Live
As soon as your profile is saved, your personal tip link is live. The Reward tab gives you ready-to-use ways to open that page for guests.
- Tap Reward to show your guest-facing QR code.
- Copy your personal reward link if you want to text or share it.
- Open Sign Mode if you want a full-screen QR for counters, valet stands, or desks.
- Guests can start tipping and leaving ratings as soon as your page is live.
Step 5 - Payout Setup (Optional)
You are prompted to connect a Stripe account to receive payouts. You can skip this step and do it later from the Wallet tab. Tips still accumulate in your wallet even without a payout method connected.
Step 6 - Home Screen
Once setup is complete, you land on the Home tab showing your earnings dashboard.
Live, Training, and Demo Mode
The mobile app automatically follows the environment assigned to your employee profile in Aplauso.
- Live mode shows your real earnings, ratings, and wallet data.
- Training mode shows sandbox data for practice and setup.
- Demo mode shows demo data used for walkthroughs and staged demonstrations.
If your account is in Training mode or Demo mode, the app shows a banner above the main tabs and labels the active data mode in Settings.
You cannot switch between live and training mode from the mobile app yet. To change modes, use the dashboard or ask your manager or administrator.
App Reopen Security
If you enable Face ID / fingerprint app lock from Profile → Settings → Security, the app will ask for biometrics or your device passcode each time it reopens.
Trouble Signing In
| Issue | Solution |

| SMS code never arrives | Check your phone has signal. Tap Resend Code after the 60-second cooldown expires. |
| "No employee record found" error | Contact your manager - your employee profile may need to be created in the dashboard first. |
| "Setup error" screen on first launch | Your manager needs to verify your venue and employee record are active. |
| Forgot password | Tap Forgot Password on the email login screen. |
| Signed out unexpectedly | Your session token may have expired. Sign back in - your earnings data is not lost. |
Signing Out
Go to Settings tab → Account → Log Out. Tap Confirm in the dialog. You are returned to the welcome screen. All local notification history is cleared from the device on sign-out.
