Your Aplauso privacy settings let you decide what information is visible to guests scanning your QR code and what analytics data is shared.
Accessing Privacy Settings
Go to my.aplauso.io > Settings > Privacy.
Privacy Options
Profile Visible
On (default): Your name and photo appear in the property employee lookup directory at k.aplauso.io/lookup/{propertyId}. Guests can search for you and scan your QR code from the directory.
Off: You are hidden from the public employee directory. Guests can still tip you if they have your personal QR code or URL directly. You are not searchable by guests.
Show Rating
On (default): Your average star rating is displayed on your tipping profile page beneath your name.
Off: The star rating is hidden from guests on your kiosk page.
Show Total Tips
On (default): Your cumulative tip count or lifetime total may be visible as a social proof metric on your profile.
Off: The tip total metric is hidden.
Show Reviews
On (default): Written feedback left by guests (if your property collects review text) is shown on your tipping page.
Off: No written guest feedback is shown publicly.
Allow Messaging
When enabled, guests can send a short appreciation message alongside their tip. Disable this if you prefer no guest messages.
Data Sharing
On (default): Your anonymized performance data (average rating, tip frequency) is included in property-level and organization-level analytics that your managers can view.
Off: Your individual data is excluded from aggregated performance reports. Note that managers with PropertyAdmin access can still see your tip totals for payroll and compliance purposes.
Tips for Privacy Settings
- Turning off Profile Visible does not prevent you from receiving tips - it only hides you from the browsable directory.
- Your personal earnings data (wallet balance, tip history, individual transactions) is never visible to guests regardless of your privacy settings.
- If a guest has your direct QR code link, they can always access your tipping page even if your profile is hidden from the directory.
