The speed of your payout depends on Stripe's settlement schedule and your account's payout method. Here's exactly what to expect.
Standard Payout Timeline
When an employee requests a withdrawal from their Aplauso wallet, Stripe initiates a bank transfer. The timeline from withdrawal request to funds in the bank:
| Account Status | Typical Settlement |
|---|---|
| New accounts (< 7 days on Stripe) | 7-day initial hold, then 2 business days per withdrawal |
| Established accounts (> 30 days) | 1 business day |
| Standard accounts (7–30 days) | 2 business days |
Example: An employee with an established Stripe account requests a withdrawal on a Monday afternoon. The funds arrive in their bank account by Tuesday or Wednesday, depending on their bank's processing time.
The 7-Day New Account Hold
When an employee connects their Stripe account for the first time, Stripe holds all incoming funds for 7 days. This is a Stripe anti-fraud measure that applies to all new connected accounts - it's not specific to Aplauso.
After the 7-day period, payouts proceed on the standard schedule (1–2 business days).
What this means for new employees: On your first week, tips will accumulate in your wallet but cannot be withdrawn until the hold period ends. After that, payouts are fast and automatic.
Business Day Cutoffs
Stripe processes payouts on United States business days (Monday–Friday, excluding federal holidays). Withdrawal requests made:
- Before 5 PM Eastern on a business day → typically settle the next business day
- After 5 PM Eastern or on a weekend/holiday → settlement begins the following business day
Instant Payouts
Stripe offers Instant Payouts for eligible debit cards and bank accounts (currently available in the US and select other markets). With Instant Payouts:
- Funds arrive within 30 minutes of the withdrawal request
- A small fee applies (typically 1–1.5% of the withdrawal amount, charged by Stripe)
- Available 24/7, including weekends and holidays
To use Instant Payouts, your bank account must be linked via a supported debit card or eligible US bank. To check eligibility, go to Settings → Payment Methods - if your bank is eligible, you'll see the Instant Payout option when withdrawing.
Why Your Payout Might Be Later Than Expected
| Cause | Resolution |
|---|---|
| Bank processing delay | Allow 1 extra business day; some banks process ACH transfers overnight |
| Stripe verification pending | Check the Stripe dashboard; complete any outstanding verification steps |
| Account restricted by Stripe | Check email from Stripe; provide requested documentation |
| Withdrawal requested on a weekend | Settlement begins the next business day (Monday) |
| Holiday | Federal bank holidays delay ACH settlements by 1 business day |
| First withdrawal (new account) | 7-day hold is normal for all new Stripe connected accounts |
Checking Payout Status
As an Employee
- Open the mobile app or go to my.aplauso.io.
- Tap Wallet → Transaction History.

What Appears on Your Bank Statement
Bank transfers from Aplauso/Stripe typically appear with the descriptor:
- "STRIPE" or "STR APLAUSO"* or "Stripe Payout"
The exact label depends on your bank. If you're unsure about a transfer, cross-reference the amount and date with your Aplauso transaction history.
