Aplauso keeps you informed about new tips, ratings, and account events through its in-app notification system. Notifications appear in the Alerts tab (bell icon in the bottom navigation).
How Notifications Work
Aplauso uses an in-app notification system stored locally on your device. When you receive a new tip or rating, the notification is queued and displayed the next time you open the app. The Alerts tab badge count updates every 30 seconds while the app is open.
Note: Remote push notifications (alerts when the app is closed) are coming soon. Currently, notifications are only visible when the app is open or in the foreground.
Notification Types

The Alerts Screen
Open the Alerts tab (bell icon) to see all your notifications:
- Notifications are grouped by date: Today, Yesterday, or a specific date.
- Unread notifications are highlighted with a colored left border.
- Tap any notification to view details or navigate to the related screen.
Managing Notifications
Mark as Read
- Single notification: Tap any notification to mark it as read.
- All notifications: Tap the Mark all as read button at the top of the Alerts screen.
Delete Notifications
- Single notification: Swipe left on a notification and tap Delete.
- All notifications: Tap Clear all at the top of the Alerts screen.
The app stores up to 100 notifications on your device. Older notifications are removed automatically once this limit is reached.
Notification Settings
Go to Settings tab → Notifications to customize your preferences.
Note: Advanced notification preferences (Push Notifications, Email, SMS, thresholds, quiet hours) are coming soon. Currently the in-app system delivers all events automatically.
Available settings (coming soon) will include:
- Push Notifications (on/off)
- Email Notifications
- SMS Notifications
- New Tips, New Reviews, Weekly/Monthly Reports
- Achievement alerts
- Marketing communications
- Quiet hours (time window to silence alerts)
- Tip notification threshold (only notify for tips above a certain amount)
- Digest frequency: Real-time / Hourly / Daily / Weekly
FAQ
Why didn't I get notified about a tip I can see in my wallet? In-app notifications are generated when the app is active. If the app was closed in the background, the notification may not have queued. You can always check transaction history in the Wallet tab.
Notifications show the wrong time. Notifications use your device's local timezone. Make sure your phone's time zone setting is correct.
I accidentally cleared all notifications. Deleted notifications cannot be recovered from the notifications screen. All transaction data remains available in the Wallet and earnings screens.
